Hello Operation Brotherly Love Volunteers!

What a wonderful time of the year to be an OBL host family volunteer!  The OBL holiday carnival is four weeks away and we are very excited to be hosting our 8th annual event in a way that fosters the family connections that this event has been built upon. 

This year’s event is being held at The Liacoura Center @ Temple University!  You will be one of over 1,000 volunteers who will share in making the holidays for 700 families, with over 2,000 children a little more special. 

The role of our volunteers will include hosting guest families for the day to ensure they participate in all event activities - games, family portraits, lunches, receiving a new coat provided by Operation Warm and experiencing a day filled with holiday fun and cheer.

You will find the Liacouras Center facility to provide the space and event flow that is best suited for this event.  We truly value your volunteer experience as your role is the foundation of this event.  We have listened to feedback from previous events and have selected the venue and engineered this year’s event with major improvements and focus on the volunteer experience, the arrival and departure processes and space lay-outs.  We are excited to present this year’s event to everyone!

Arrival Time: 8:30 – 9:30 am

All volunteers MUST be on the registration list to participate. If you have any changes or additions to the information submitted via the online form, please email as soon as possible.

·         Receive a volunteer packet with event information for the event. 

Dress Code: Shirts for all volunteers will be sent to your home/office locations provided during online registrations by December 13, 2016.  You will be on your feet for most of the day so dress casual & comfortable. There are no coat checks, so it's recommend to dress in layers.

Personal Items: Volunteers are asked not to bring backpacks or bags on premise.  All belongings must be left at home or in your car.  All bags will be checked at the door by security.

Security: Security will be present at registration and throughout the event to ensure safety of our guests and volunteers.

Departure: Family departures will start around 2:00pm and all volunteers will be done for the day no later than 3:30pm.
